Organized by the China Composites Society Natural Fiber Composites Committee, the 2nd Natural Fiber Composites Symposium hosted by Nanjing Forestry University School of Materials was successfully held at Nanjing Forestry University from September 28 to 30, 2018. The theme of this conference is the new development and new era of natural fiber composite materials. The 2nd Natural Fiber Composites Symposium aims to strengthen academic exchanges and personnel training, promote the rapid development of natural fiber and its composite materials industry, jointly plan the development of China''''''''s natural fiber composite materials, and also be a wider application of natural fiber composite materials. Provide scientific basis for more people to understand the development and progress of China''''''''s natural fiber composite materials science.

     Professor Wang Zhongkai and Zhang Yaqiong (Ph.D., lecturer) led four graduate students, Peng Qiang, Wu Hao, Li Jianjun and Mu Shiling, to participate in this meeting. Professor Wang Zhongkai was invited as one of the host of the venue to preside over the meeting.

       During the meeting, Prof. Wang Zhongkai gave an academic report entitled “High-elasticity hydrogel based on cellulose nanocrystals”, and systematically introduced the research progress of the research group in the field of high-elastic elastin biomimetic materials.
